Who is behind vlot?
We started as team of two founders to re-invent the life insurance journey. And we are now a passionate team of ambitious, multicultural, like-minded insurance industry professionals, tech cracks and entrepreneurs who are passionate about creating technical solutions to help individuals make informed financial decisions.

Alex Drake
Software Engineer
With experience in web apps, medical devices & accelerator systems, Alex brings along a broad tech insight. He's into functional programming & Nix, which he supports by organizing events in Zürich. Alex joined vlot in 2023.
Benjamin Rudolf von Rohr
Tech Lead
Benjamin is a software engineer with 10+ years of experience. He holds a degree in computer science, began his career as a front-end developer at a bank and eventually joined vlot in 2020.
Daniel Schmidheiny
Co-founder & CPO
Daniel co-founded vlot in 2017, driven by his deep understanding of social security systems, gained through years of advising corporates and individuals. He's a former Swiss vice champion in ultra-cycling together with Sandro.
Dr. Jonas Bösch
CTO
Jonas has more than 10 years of experience in leading technical teams and over 20 years in software development. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and is a seasoned Software and Systems Architect – greatly enjoying solving technical problems and helping others navigate complexity.
Linus Vettiger
Software Engineer
Linus is a software engineer with with 10+ years of experience. After starting as a web developer at a Swiss pharma company, he joined vlot in the year 2020, where he also completed his computer science degree.
Michael Dritsas
CEO
Michael has deep insurance expertise, having led product development and fund management at a top Swiss insurer. He was also responsible for the global life product & innovation portfolio at Allianz SE. Michael joined vlot in 2019.
Sandro Matter
Co-founder & COO
Sandro co-founded vlot with his insurance advisor, Daniel, in 2017. He has a background in strategy and business development, holds a Master of Arts in Banking and Finance, and is a former Swiss vice-champion in ultra-cycling.
Simona Giacomini
UI/UX-Designer
Simona is a UI/UX designer with a background in illustration and visual communication. After freelancing, she moved to in-house roles to collaborate more closely with teams and users. Simona joined vlot in 2023.
